Customer 1.0.0 · Installation & Usage Guide
Windows and VEGAS Pro are required. Save a copy of your project before editing. The customer build needs an internet connection each time you analyze or edit, even after purchase. Media analysis runs locally; your audio and video are not uploaded to the license server.
Extract the entire ZIP into a new folder outside VEGAS, for example Documents/StoryYou Tools/Packages/Silence Cut Pro 1.0.0. Close all VEGAS windows. Run StoryYou Silence Cut Pro Setup.exe and click Install / Update. The installer backs up an existing DLL automatically. Then click Open Activation Manager.
Choose English or 한국어 at the top. To try the product, click Start 24-Hour Trial. Time starts immediately and continues while the program is closed; reinstalling does not reset it. To activate a purchase, paste your personal purchase link and click Activate Purchase. A paid license hides the trial button. Click Install FFmpeg once if it is not installed. The download is separate and requires an internet connection.
Restart VEGAS, then open Tools → Extensions → StoryYou Silence Cut Pro. This is an application extension, not a Script Menu command. Select exactly one audio event on the timeline. You can keep the tool open while selecting clips.
Set Silence threshold, Minimum duration, and Speech padding. Defaults are −35 dB, 0.80 seconds, and 0.15 seconds. Each detected interval is shortened by the padding at both ends; intervals no longer than twice the padding are skipped. Click Analyze silence. Analysis creates regions only. Double-click a result to move the cursor. Change values and analyze again to replace previous silence regions after confirmation. −30 dB detects more low-level audio as silence than −40 dB. The original media is analyzed, so VEGAS volume and effects are not included.
Delete checked deletes checked intervals across all tracks while preserving gaps and their regions. Delete all deletes all detected intervals and keeps gaps. Ripple delete all removes the intervals and shifts later events on all tracks. Ordinary markers, regions and track automation are not shifted. Review the confirmation carefully and use a copy of the project. Use VEGAS Undo if needed.
Open the manager on the current PC and click Deactivate This PC. Copy the newly displayed transfer link and open it in a browser on the new PC. Download, extract and install there, then activate. If the link was lost, use Recover Transfer Link on the original PC. Old purchase files become invalid after deactivation. Only one PC may be registered per purchase. The trial cannot be transferred or restarted.
The DLL is installed under your Windows Documents folder in Vegas Application Extensions. The manager is under StoryYou Tools/Silence Cut Pro. FFmpeg is installed in the extension folder. Windows may redirect Documents to OneDrive; the installer follows Windows. Keep the ZIP and guides outside the extension folder. If the tool is absent, close all VEGAS windows, install again, and restart. If activation fails, check internet and Windows time. An expired trial requires a valid purchase. Online checkout integration is still being prepared; the Buy button in this build does not initiate a payment.
